“Carry on” By Wayne Power
The proverb goes, “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade". See the rainbow. Look for the pot of gold. See the black cloud. Look for the silver lining. A Finnish proverb says, “Even a small star shines in the darkness”. Any light and hope dispels darkness and despair. Carry on. Think about your own proverb. As a little tidbit of wisdom To possibly share. For just about everyone, For just about any life situation. Carry on. It may be short and pithy. It may be even witty. But it states a general truth. It’s a morsel of advice for any sleuth. It’s folkloric. It’s formulaic. It may be comic. Even historic. Values and beliefs. Truths. Carry on. Buffoonery is alive "buffoonery is alive An image marches and stampedes into mind of an elephant herd roaring into view The pack of delegated beasts are being led by one outspoken clownish head With Flapping ears and frothing lips Approaching Over the edge of a precipice fall Each in lockstep obedience Mesmerized and dazed with foolish Attempts of attack and humor Over into the depths of prejudice and depravity Nose to tail each falls like a chain reaction of pachyderms into a heap With the intelligence of an iconic elephant symbol, republicanized doctrines, dogmas, directions sinking into controversy and ignorance buffoonery is alive." from up above on a cloud so high sat Infant Cupid in his celestial sky he looked down at a world in need, saying, “Now’s my time to intercede.” he took his quiver with arrows filled and floated down on wings so frailed n’ frilled his messsge would be clearly sent Inflict the wounds inspire a passion to those who can’t prevent flee the scene of hearts a flutter to victims and strangers who are all a dutter Mission accomplished with stronger wings Cupid returns to Mercury thankful for the love he brings. Charlie A mind of his own couch for his home A treat for dessert A whimper when hurt A ball to retrieve Sad eyes when you leave But yoyo jumps when you’re back Would rather lick than attack A truck for a ride Shows excitement outside When it’s hot there’s a pool Four feet to get cool He’s one of a kind A truly rare find His colour is yellow A happy-go-lucky fellow When there’s music he sings And any thrown ball he brings It’s in his nature to please For his breed is retrieves Charlie is more than a pet On that you can bet His unconditional love Is beyond and above He’s a special family member Every moment to remember A living tribute he deserves This small verse now preserves W. A. Power Back to Gaia’s garden
To borrow an ending line from Joni Mitchell’s lyrics, I see all her prophetics In her words of wisdom and hope “… back to the garden” She sings her lines with heart from a place of intuition her passion and destination And yearns for oneness She says “life is for learning” We must replace war with peace. It is a time of man for us all, learning from our mistakes In a garden of hope, we must live To survive To rise up and soar changing bombs to butterflies On wings of golden stardust into a brighter future “And we’ve got to get ourselves Back to the garden” it’s not too late for climate to recover, Holding the environment close as a lover, our friend, our heart To cherish it so deeply together Walking with Gaia Climate is changing and so can we Change our ways — adapt — survive To make our days better together Respecting Gaia living in harmony and oneness with our environments, our Nature of air and land and water Let us Return again to “Woodstock”, To our “Eden” - reborn, revitalized with our new-found knowledge with our second chance to live to a simpler relationship with Gaia in garden of rebirth and hope A-fresh with a new sense Of a spiritual springtime.
